Morning everyone....hope you are well.

Hop Harvest Open Brew Day - Saturday Sept 10th (Tomorrow!)

Calling all Hop Pickers, we need your help stripping the lovely aromatic hop cones from the bine Saturday morning from 11:00

Jeff will be brewing up the Annual Fresh Hop IPA, utilising as many cones as we can muster.  If you've been growing some Lovibonds brand hops or know of any hedgerow hops in the area please bring them along for the brew.

Cheers to a bountiful harvest.   Last year's harvest

Harvest Update

Every year our main hop supplier Charles Faram invites brewers and suppliers to one of their commercial farms during the picking season.  I joined them the other day at Stocks Farm in Suckley, Worcester to see how the professionals do it.
In a nutshell it sounds like very positive news globally regarding the hop harvest in the northern hemisphere (which isn't true for barley and wheat).  We also heard about and saw some new British hop varieties that the hop growers and merchants are hop(p)ing will bring some 'new world' flavour and aroma to UK grown hops.   Mountains of hops - click for more pictures

Check out a few of the pictures that I took on the day here.

Brewmasters Dinner at Hotel du Vin

We had to reschedule the Beer Dinner at Hotel du Vin, so sorry for any inconvenience.

It is very ironic that the Henley branch of Hotel du Vin exists within the walls the the once iconic Brakspears Brewery aka Henley Brewery.  Maybe even more ironic that Lovibonds is holding its first Brewmasters Dinner there  Friday October 14th, 7:00.

Did you know that beer is more versatile than wine in pairing with food?    Head Chef Arron Christopher and I have developed a menu paired and cooked with Lovibonds beer to help demonstrate just that.

I look forward to sharing a beer and talking you through the pairings on the night.  Details on how to book here.

The Lovibonds Party Keg

We now have 20 litre (35 pint) kegs available for takeaway from the tasting room.  A smart tap fits right onto the keg and you can have yours guests pour their own Lovibonds.  All you need to provide is a bucket of ice water to keep the beer cold.

Taps/kegs must be reserved (first come, first served) by emailing kegs@lovibonds.com or calling 01491 576 596 and picked up Fri, Sat, Sun  and returned by the following Thursday.  Current pricing for Henley Gold, Amber and Dark is 65.00 (ex VAT)

That's all folks,
Jeff
