Happy Thanksgiving!!!

People always ask me what Thanksgiving is like...Basically, it is a good excuse to take a day off work, visit with family members, eat and drink too much, take a nap on the couch and then watch football.

In all seriousness, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support over the last year.  Whether it was introducing a friend to us, taking our beer to a party or just stopping in the shop to say 'hi', your support is very much appreciated.

Christmas at Lovibonds

There is a good rule in America...you can't talk about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, a good rule indeed.  We have extended our range of gifts this Christmas including, for the real connoisseur, wooden presentation boxes of our Lovibonds Dark (7.4% Whiskey Barrel Aged) and Gold Reserve (7.3% Wheat Wine) 75cl bottles (from 12.50).

Also, remember that our Party 9's, mini 9 pint kegs, will make you a real hero at this year's Christmas drinks party (22 or 3 for 60).

Opening hours are Saturdays 11-5, we will also be open Monday, Tuesday (Dec. 22nd-23rd) and Christmas Eve day.  Car parking is available.

Henley Christmas Festival

We will be out in the Market Square on Friday night (28th Nov 17:30-21:00) for Henley's annual Christmas Festival.  This is a great night to ditch the car and enjoy the festive nature of the event, including the lighting of the Christmas tree, Santa's Grotto for the kids and of course Lovibonds beer for the parents.  We'll have a full bar and shop set up, including samples of something fruity that we are working on.

The Tax Man

It seemed to be hidden in the spin earlier in the week when Alastair Darling tried to kick start the economy with a 2.5% decrease in VAT.  What most people don't know is that he funded this decrease with a 8% increase in Beer Duty.   This takes this year's duty increase to a whopping 17%.  Clearly this government has no respect for us and the other small businesses involved in the beer and pub trade...you can let him know that you disapprove by sending him an email at darlinga@parliament.uk

That's all for now...I hope to see you soon!

Best regards,

Jeff
