69 IPA Trademarked   Common Sense Prevails

We have received our trademark for 69 IPA after a lengthy dispute with global drinks giant Diageo.

Thankfully, common sense prevailed in this situation and Diageo decided not to pursue the matter any further.  It was alarming to see how far they wanted us to go in giving up rights to our own brand.  A big thank you to all the bloggers/tweeters/print media, etc that got the word out about this, causing a bit of a stir.  I think Diageo realised what they were up against.

Chalk one up for the little guy!

German Baker

We now host the German Baker in our car park every Friday from 14:30-16:00.  If you have a taste for bread beyond the standard white pan, you will not be disappointed with this bread.  There is a wide variety of breads, pretzels, cheesecakes and other continental delicacies.

Please tell your friends.  I realise that some of you can't make it before 16:00, we would be happy to grab something for you, just email or talk to us in the shop.

Also, if you come in on Friday nights, make sure you let Chris know that you'd like to try some, as a swift trade of 69 IPA usually buys us some tasty samples!

Oxford Brewers

Lovibonds will host the Oxford Brewers this Saturday as they take over the Lovibonds Pilot Brew Plant for a bit of experimental brewing.  Tasting Room open as usual, please come in and enjoy the fun...

Oxford Brewers is a great club of like minded individuals who prefer to brew the beer they drink.  It is a club that has inspired me greatly over the years and has a very active membership.   We're happy to host them once again this year as they brew up 100 litres of Black IPA, an up and coming style that we are also very interested in.

BBQ Time

A new member of the team arrived this week in the form of a Barbeque.  Its inaugural firing on Saturday is going to see juicy ribs, sausages and hand made burgers, all of which will have beer used in the cooking process.

That's all for now.  Hope you have a great weekend!

Jeff
