| Lovibonds Expansion Update | ||
| If
you've been following local brewing
news, you will know that the Berkshire Brewery
in Reading is closing its doors today after 20 odd
years of production. This may not be good news
for those that work there, but it has turned into a
bit of a blessing for Lovibonds.
Lovibonds put in a bid for the brewing equipment to help meet our growing demand and to our surprise we won it! The brewhouse is super efficient (read German) and designed to kick out 6,000,000 hectolitres (600,000,000 litres) of beer annually. Our hope is that this will cover our forecasted demand for the next 3 to 4 years. Only time will tell. |

| Raymond Blanc's Golden Secret | ||
| The art and craft of
making bread is very similar to that of making beer
and on Tuesday night
Raymond Blanc
gave up some of his bread making secrets on his
BBC Kitchen Secrets programme. Raymond has been serving our Henley Dark and Henley Gold for over a year now at the nearby Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons. But what most people don't know is that Raymond buys a lot of our Henley Gold for making some of the great bread there. On Tuesday night we got to see him make Beer Rolls with Henley Gold! |

| The Lovibonds Hop Cooperative and Hop Watch 2010 | ||
| Well it
is that time of year when mother nature comes alive
again. We'll be tracking the progress of the
Lovibonds Hop Yard again this year, with pictures
posted out in this
facebook album. For those that are interested in joining the Lovibonds Hop Cooperative and growing hops of your own, we'll be giving out free rhizomes this Saturday (3rd April) on a first come, first served basis. What you need is a sunny and well drained area of your garden, with a wall, fence or other structure to allow for 20 or so feet of climbing. The idea is that you look after the plant and then bring the mature plant down to us in early September (date tbc) and take part in our annual Fresh Hop Harvest and Brew Day. Here are some pictures from last years Harvest day. |

| London Calling | ||
| Being so close to
one of the biggest beer markets in Britain, it has
always been on the cards for us to start selling
some beer there. We've partnered with our
friends at
Utobeer who distribute some of the best beers on
the planet. If you're in the
big smoke, you can check out their stall in
Borough Market and while you are there, check out
The Rake, one of the best beer bars in London.
Both are currently featuring Lovibonds beer,
including some of our one off specials. Stay tuned for more London news soon! |
